track silencers for gtr

Hi,
Does anybody know of any aftermarket silencers to replace the rear tail pipes or is the factory upgrade option the best way to go. Just had the noise meter on mine and its coming out at 107 db.

You may find that you have blown all the packing out of your silencers. Fitting the factory track day silencer may not be enough to cure the problem. Making your existing silencers re-packable is probably the answer.

If you want to replace the silencers then Autobionics do a system I think, or you could have one made by a specialist.

If you are repacking try Thermal Velocity Acusta-fil. Their website explains why its good and indeed it is. Chris Tullet for exhaust systems.

Looks like the packing may have disappeared then,surely the factory could have forseen this and made the cans repackable? but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Thanks for all the help,iv now got the car booked in at powerspeed in ashford kent to make the silencers repackable. They will then retest the db's and assess the situation, extra silencer will be made and fitted if required.
Also thanks to sone and ultimas for their help as previous owners of my ultima.

Just to point out your Ultima GTR does not have a factory supplied Ultima exhaust system fitted.
Our LS engine exhaust system does have re-packable silencers as standard and will pass the most stringent of noise tests with our optional quieter 3rd exhaust silencer box fitted.

Yes thats correct, iv found out that the headers were made for the ls2 coversion and the origional silencers were used from the old sbc set up.
