Guys,

Opinions valued, would a smart repair be possible on this dent?

My mother-in-law clipped her gate post and most likely wont spend the money on a full repair, but given the cars about 6 mths old, im trying to talking her into not leaving as is, although each to their own and all that!

Cheers
Paul

I'm in no way qualified to comment, but that's never stopped anyone on here before. smile I'll just repeat some hearsay, that I understand if the paint is broken then it can't be smart repaired.

I think it can be as its within a 9" ish maximum.

However, as paint will be needed, i would take it to a reputable body shop.

Might cost a bit more but should be a better repair.

hth.

It's in a very conspicuous place and it'd never look perfect after smart repair.

Cheers for replies guys,

If it was mine, without doubt it'd be in for repair. However being mother-in-law's car which "still drives fine" she is reluctant to spend the cash on a proper repair, im trying to get a mid point between the cost of the full repair and touch up paint opposed to leaving a 6mth old car in that state.

To be honest i agree, especially given the colour it'd be very hard to get a good smart repair which isn't noticable, as said, its in a very conspicious area.

I've emailed the photos t a few local repair places to see what the options available are and the cost.

Any idea of what we would expect to pay for a proper repair - i estimated approx £300?

cheers
Paul

You used the etching on the window and that, sir, is cheating.

I wouldn't bother really, I see where you're coming from, but what are the chances she'll just do it again?
