new owner

Hello All,new owner of first tvr - S3 1990 sapphire blue.thanks to simon - previous owner who was freindly and informative during the viewing ,test drive and put it on ramps to view underneath.only had it 2days but now know what TVR Grin means -its an awesome piece of kit!.look fwd to posting on here and gleening info from you all.
few things to have a look at

1.interior light doesnt work when doors open -door switches how do you gain access to them?

2.trim strip on outside of aluminium false 1/4 light upright missing - are they available still -if so form where?

3.fuel filler cap pitted - new item available? or re-chrome only option?does another car have same?

4.wood dash panel and switch panel cracked - are these available new or re-work?

thanks in advance to any replies.carnt wait to get out with roof down -but of course its usual bank hol weather!

Firstly, as many will be thinking, show us some pics of your new P&J and well done on finding one.

As for you points

1. Mine does the same thing, but does work on the switch. Haven't investigated it properly yet so can't be of any real help. I'm sure someone will be along soon with a solution.
2. Is this the rubber strip between the aluminum and the glass? If so then lower the window and cut a piece of rubber to size and attach with contact adhesive. I'm not sure if this part is even really necessary and almost definitely can't be bought off the shelf?
3. I believe is from a sunbeam rapier. Their owners club can provide new seals for them too. As for the finish, finding a replacement could be difficult. It would probably be best to remove your current cap and send it off to a chromers. I believe that a good one will be able to repair the pitting.
4. Dash removal guides here and here and London Carriage Craft are well know for replacing the veneer.

hi all,have investigated interior light not working when doors open - firstly pulled out light and noted wiring .manual switch position lamp lights ok - middle position lamp off - last position door opening -nothing.looking at wiring/manual/meter purple/red wire to clip around bulb 12 volts -supply,black wire off one side of slide switch - earth ,but purple /white on other side of slide switch (which i take it acts as earth when doors open)has 12volts constant supply from somewhere?push door switches in no change.any ideas?
