Salut tout le monde.

As someone who has already experienced clutch failure, I have a worrying feeling the clutch on my new (new to me, 24k miles) V8V Roadster could be one the way out.

The symptom I'm getting is that on high load (4500 RPM+) upshifts, when I depress the clutch to select the next gear, the revs shoot up 300 RPM or so momentarily, rather than falling away straight away. I'm taking my foot off the gas each time, so can't work out why this would he.

This never happened on my 4.3 coupe so a bit perplexed and, as I'm currently just south of Reims on an 11 day French jaunt, a bit concerned as well!!

Any advice / insight greatly appreciated.

Adam

The throttle response can be a little lazy so the revs can climb if you're driving a little spirited and make quicker-than-normal changes. It's fine, enjoy the champagne.

Mine has this feature as well (4.3) - I've done 2500 miles with it doing the same, the throttle response is so lazy it always feels like you haven't lifted off to up-shift. Don't worry about it smile

Thanks chaps - mind at ease.

If / when clutch does go, will def look at BR's lightweight flywheel jobbie as, you're right, throttle response not exactly razor-sharp. Makes heel-toe'ing a lot more difficult I find.
