Time for a touch up!
Discussion
Folks
After given both our daily drivers a good spring clean yesterdau,I noticed a few stonechips on mine. Therefore I ordered a Chipex kit to touch it up. I thought I would mention that the chap there has a 25% off bank holiday special going on which runs until the 7th May.
For those of you who are relatively new around here, a number of us got a bulk order together a year or so ago and as I recall we were very pleased with the results.
You can read the whole thread here...

I also notice that on the Chipex website you can now order either using your registration number or VIN number which should guarantee a match.
As before, I have nothing to do with this company however I just think it is a good product (and that Johnny who runs it is a nice bloke - I met him at last years Caring for Cars)
Cheers

Never heard of this product before. How does it work? I assume that it is not a little bottle with a brush. Driving behind Yeti with his bloody big rear tyres has meant that I have been peppered a bit! No offence Lewis after all it is my fault for driving too close.
Hi Rob hope you and Molly are well(and Chris ) This weekend seems a little flat to me...something missing I think...Anyway, not in the tradition of this forum I will get back on topic, I had heard of Chipex but never used it before yesterday. I spent the day going around my car with a Chipex kit and have to say I am pleased with the result. Its not a respray but has done a good job of blending/hiding the obvious one. Most small marks have totally disappeared and the larger ones are at least the same colour now. I think there is a 'how to' video on their website - Didn't watch it, as you don't, but followed instructions and with a bit of trial and error am pleased with how it works. Its a good sized bottle of paint(acrylic based not water based) with some tiny 'pipe cleaner' looking brushes, a blending liquid - mainly a thinner I feel - and a smalll bottle of polish - but your favourite polish should do the job. Overall happy with the 50quid spent ...would have been happier if I got in on the 25% off though!!Look forward to meeting up again soon

If it was only me, I also managed to pepper myself, front of my car has countless chips now More a function of the roads than my tyres in particular I think. Front end touch up for me after Le Mans I think.
No offence taken Rob, mine seems to have attracted more complaints than others, maybe my tyres threw up bigger gravel..?

Thanks for the heads up Graham - I may partake on this occasion as I'm starting to get a few.
Would I be right in thinking that a rub with an appropriate wax would remedy any marks that have not penetrated the paintwork ??
Also, I now have stonechips on the black mesh attached to the lower grille - any advice on how to correct this ??

Hi Oblio,
I was interested to see your post as I've used this stuff before and it is good.
I was going to order some for my Mercedes having seen your post about there being 25% off but when i tried to order, it was full price and indeed £5 extra for delivery.
Trying not to be dumb here but can you tell me where the discount appears?
Thanks,
Simon
