Making it quieter

Just wondering if there it's possible to make a baffle or something to stick in the end of the exhaust, getting a bit fed up with the car, feel really antisocial putting your foot down in it due to the noise generated, ear plugs are a must, quite enjoy staying under the radar.

I assume the exhaust needs repacking?

We are going to make a carbon fibre silencer in the near future anyway with the aim of 'added lightness' and some noise reduction, but up until then a quick fix would be nice.

What exhaust is it and how old ? The standard ones are re-packable but it does required re-wleding, which isn't the most aesthetic of finishes

On my car, I found exhaust leaks at the 4 into 1 collector were making a big racket. You might want to check

It's a raceline exhaust.
I think you might be right about the 4 into 1. One of the headers is blowing there and it's probably not helping, had a go at getting a better seal previously but struggled. Might try some exhaust wrap tape.

you'll probably end up getting deafened by induction roar if you go for a quiet exhaust. my pipe was tested at 98db and the carbs were making 96db at a recent trackday. sounds very spitfiresque when blatting but becomes an annoying drone when cruising on the M-way.

K-series R500 230 bhp with a Raceco can, measured 96db at Motorsports-events Abingday Track day on 11th May 2012. I hope that helps for reference. Ult-jim
