I have just been to tenerife to help in the repatriation of my dad who has been taken seriously ill while on holiday.
While I was there I was bitten in the night 3 times (hand, knee, elbow by insect assailants unknown). I thought nothing of it apart from itching but now I am extremely tired all the time and aching all over.
I'm generally pretty fit but feel like I want to sleep all the time now and get tired very easily when doing everyday things.
On top of my dads condition its the last thing I need at the minute.
Anyone had something similar?
To add - bites were red circular ish and about 3/4inch across

Not sure what you have been bitten with but years back my ex was bitten by a clegg beastie. Day's later his throat swelled up, he had to be airlifted to Aberdeen where he ended up with septicemia (sp).

I am not wanting to put you in a panic but perhaps making an app with the doctor would be a good thing.

Really sorry about your Dad, I hoped you get him home ok and he makes a decent recovery.

I react to mosi bites like this and I don't think it's an uncommon reaction. I don't go anywhere hot without Piriton our similar our I end up looking like spotty dog.

Try the local pharmacy for a decent anti histamine tablet, do remember they can makes you drowsy.

Thanks. Feeling a bit less lethargic today so hopefully I'll be fine in a couple of days or so.

I've sort of had something similar-ish.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed a small nibble on the top of my right wrist. I thought nothing of it really but was surprised that it seemed to grow rather than disappear over the next 4 days. On day 5 my hand and arm started to swell quite badly to the point of where my hand was around 3 times the size of the other one. A few hours later I started to feel ill, wobbly and couldn't breathe properly so ended up in Hospital. They don't really know what the problem is but looks like I've had a bit of a delayed reaction to a bite or sting of some sort. I am currently on antibiotics and apart from where I've been nibbled, all is back to normal. I'm quite allergic to Bee Stings (The sting of the bee, not small tits) but normally know about it within a short while of being stung so don't know what the delay was all about.

Either way, I'd say it's best to get to a doc if you're feeling a bit on the rough side as they'll probably be able to fix you up no problem. I had all sorts of weird side effects but feel right as rain now!

I hope your Dad gets well soon!
