Has common sense completely gone out the window...??

As a professional car dealer ... when you're taking pictures of a 'just in' prestige Aston Martin convertible, surely common sense says you don't take pictures of the car with roof up when it's dry, wait for it to start raining to start taking pictures of the car with the roof down, then be happy enough with the shots of a dripping wet interior to then post them on the advert.
Despite a few miles, looks a very well looked after car, and one owner ... who I am guessing has never stood taking photos of his/her Aston with the roof down WHILE IT'S RAINING. I'd be pi*sed if it was my pride and joy and it's on SOR!

Crazy! Nevermind the idiot posting the photos, WHO would want to buy the car after seeing it abused in that manner?!
Abuse is doing do-nuts on a stone cold engine or using it to carry a ton of bricks!A little bit of rain really, really won't hurt it! Daft to photograph it if this the hysterical reaction it provokes in some, but my roof was off from 7:20 to about 9:30 yesterday and it rained lightly the whole time, I kept the roof down even when stationery - it doesn't do any damage, the leather is treated. Allowing the electrics to get soaked would be plain daft but a bit of rain on the leather won't hurt, was probably a 5min period to get some pictures
What's more annoying is seeing a convertible for sale without pictures of roof up AND roof down. At least this has been covered by this seller
Just watched the Merc clip... Now that is totally and utterly insane
Will that car ever be the same again??
Also the Volante is the cheap one of the thread a few days ago I think. A few spots of abusive rain aside, really is a lovely car for that money. That's top DB7 Volante money...

Getting caught in rain in your own car until you can pull over to put the roof us is one thing,
standing there taking photos of a car you are aiming to sell with said photos is a bit bl*ody stupid in my book.
Would it put me off buying it?
In itself (interior getting a bit wet) probably not, but the fact the dealer has done it and therefore doesnt care too much for the car ... Would it enthuse me with confidence in the car or their after sales service to get me to go and see it?? Probably not.
Perception can be 9/10's of the law in any business, hence my point about has common sense disappeared.

I left home in the rain, knowing it was raining with the roof down. I then sat in traffic for over an hour roof down, in the rain. I quite like rain and my car doesn't care. It's a car! I agree however, the dealer has done himself no favours as a microfibre cloth on the door cappings would have been fine, my point was it isn't abuse A bit like taking a sales photo of a car when it's dirty I suppose, bad idea but not abuse.

Just you keep digging that hole le Yeti
Have shovel - will dig I'm so careful and have a huge degree of mechanical sympathy for the older members of the fleet... but the Aston is so sturdy, so modern that they don't need to be treated with kid gloves. Serviced to the letter or more, regular health checks and they can be used as you please
As the OP says - common sense
