Just wondering if anyone has done a matt blue M3 in the UK?
I can't find the colour of car I want for the price I want, so I figured it might be easier, and possibly cheaper to buy any colour and get it wrapped.
I've found this in America, it might not be every ones taste but I rather like it...

That car looks a lot like Santorini Blue.
In all honesty i'm not a fan of this colour but hey if you like it then go for it.
I presume the Santorini Blue is the blue on the Laguna edition? If so, that's the colour I'd like, however they start around £35k, and when you can get a decent non limited version for over £10k less it seems stupid. That £10k could buy a nice wrap, some subtle mods and still have plenty of change left over to fuel it...In all honesty i'm not a fan of this colour but hey if you like it then go for it.
Hi,
I'd suggest to indeed find the car you'd like and then find a reputable wrapping specialist to have the car done at a high level of quality in the colour you'd like.
I've just returned from the USA and part of my time there was spent at the MFest show. Enthusiasts here will modify at the highest level and most of the Pistonheads members will probably turn their noses up at much of the things done. However, I did spot these two and they did indeed, look stunning
A Frozen Estoril blue (I think!) E92 M3;

And one that was wrapped in what appears to be a very close match to the car you reference

Excuse the picture quality, I'm no photographer and this was 3 levels below the Palazzo hotel as cars rolled in from all over the US and Canada.
Another rare colour was this 1M in yellow, i don't know the exact colour name, perhaps it is Dakar yellow 2 or something

Another colour which has been done is Frozen/matt Melbourne red, I know there's at least one car with that wrap done to it via the MFest guys over in the US, again stunning looking!
Tastes here in the UK aren't as bold or daring, but It'd be great to see someone do something different from the matt black/white/grey that's usually done here !
Cheers, Dennis!

Hi,
I might be getting confused as there was just so many cars at the show.
The 'Frozen' blue M3 above I 'think' was wrapped, but I'm not 100% sure. It may well have been proper paint.
The 'Santorini' looking one again, I'm not 100% sure was wrapped, it could've been fully painted.
I do recall seeing a vendor rolling around with a similar car and they were wrapping specialists based in LA, I can't remember if the pic above is their car or not!
However, these and a few other 'matt' cars looked stunning, it's all in the quality of the application of the vinyl wrap which goes a long way in giving a fantastic finish. In other US shows, other cars have been wrapped so well that this has to be put on the car;

The 1M I think was genuine paint and not a wrap.
My vote for a fantastic vinyl wrap specialist is Totally Dynamic in North London - they've done some bits on my car and also many many others including some high end exotics too. They do have other branches nationwide. If you are near North London, then speak to Scott
Cheers, Dennis!

Matt or gloss? There is the factory finished version of that blue floating about, not seen any matt ones though.
I'll be disappointed if there's a matt one just down the road!
Not sure mate, it wasn't that light and raining. Either way, it's a striking shade.I'll be disappointed if there's a matt one just down the road!
I hope you aren't the shy and retiring type.
