Has anyone tried a 10.5" clutch in a v8 wedge?

As luck would have it I have a v8 rangey engine with one of these on the flywheel, and then I read somwhere that it won't fit in the LT77 bellhousing.

As more luck would have it I have a spare bellhousing so I tried sticking it on the back - and it does indeed foul the pressure plate.

So - are thre special bellhousings available that we can use on wedges? I don't mean the rangey ones either as they are 6" longer so that would mean shortening the propshaft (and that's assuming the gearstick would line up).

Adam

I have a 10.5 inch McLeod on my car .. and it does fit the LT77 bellhousing.

http://www.realsteel.co.uk/section1.pdf (search for McLeod).

The clutch is taller by 10mm so the bearing retainer has to be shorter by 10mm on a new install.

Hmm yes I saw this but I am trying a stock Rangey one. Perhaps the problem is that the rangey pressure plate is higher/thicker than the McDonalds one?

I guess all I could bring to the party is the flywheel which is already drilled, so there would be a scarier amount of money to lash out on an while new clutch.
