Is there dissent in N Wales?
Discussion
Sitting in a cafe, sorry caffi, in North Wales a few weeks ago I read the local Llyn Penninsula newspaper. Most of it was written in the gutteral garbage the North Walians call a language. (I believe Cafe is a French word, so why it has a different spelling in Welsh is beyond me)
The contents of said paper were typically local with the usual rubbish about Hospitals and schools and the next car boot sale etc. The intersting bit was the locations and dates of the next weeks Talivan activities. Up front someone had been supplied with this information, the source of which can only be North Wales police. So it looks like Brunstrom has not got everyone convinced in his force.
Alternatively of course, perhaps speed kills but only if you happen to be a tourist.

Somerset and Avon post the location of their Talivans on their website. All good you think until you actually see one when out and about. EVERY single one I've see has not been mentioned on their site for that day. Their responce to this is "Whilst every effort has been made to inform road users where we are operating, operational difficulties may result in changes in enforcement locations. "

My ENGLISH parents and sister live on Yns Mon or whatever they insist on calling anglesea. They are all in various Welsh Classes and have recently taken various exams.
I keep telling them its a made up language, but they won't have it.

Mr Brunstrom has been instrumental in directing all camera partnerships to do this.

Can you say why it is that these list are sometimes incorrect?
I have often seen Talivans operating at locations not listed. They get around this by saying "locations can change due to operational needs"
What possible operational need can be served by having a van at a given location on a Thursday when the published list says it will be there on a Wednesday.
Why do they seem to prefer to target vehicles just about to leave a 30 or 40 limit and enter a national limit with a clear road ahead?

Mr. Brunstrom has been instrumental in creating major distractions from constructive road safety policies for several years, and a great deal of unnecessary suffering continues as a result. It doesn't need to be that way. Richard and Steve - you are not helping.
Best wishes all,
Dave.

I would like to correct that statement:

Steve - Liebchen !
What about those photos on your site - eh?
Course Tafia - he says it is "selective photography" - take a look see! Ings? He does same as Dick Ed!
And Stevie Liebchen babes - you do come out some real gems on there!
He is thinking on banning the Tigers - the guy had cheek to type word "scam" on his site and when they viewed it -- it said "I have just posted a banned word and should be banned" or something like that! So they edited to "s/cam" anbd this was OK
Nothing like being "thought police" either, Liebchen!
Our Stevie would no doubt have been a fully paid up Party Member in GDR!

The scam locations are also advertised on local radio by a scammer, but the station is so sh*t nobody ever listens to it
An arogant sounding c**t he is too.So, has anyone got the time/inclination to track the talivans in their district and see how much they adhere to their advertised schedule over a week? If they are ignoring it that much it could make for some good press to help get the message across what dodgy geezers these guys are.
Arrive Alive in N Wales have a Beth Mitcheson - PR type person who is nearly as skilled at the art of dogma and spin as Steve Callaghan is in Cumbria. Arrive Alive do publish the locations of their vans but its remarkable how much training their people have to undergo. All to do what is obvious to anyone as a mindnumbingly simple task. And even more remarkable how many courses seem to be cancelled at the last minute. Forcing them to do some extra enforcement in unscheduled areas.
Beth won't write to me any more after I asked her to allow me to publish here replies!!!
Beth
One of your vans was lurking in Tinkersdale this morning. Your website clearly stated that Hawarden was not being targetted this morning. I shall be pleased if you will explain the anomaly.
The attached pictures show the care with which your operator concealed himself.

Her reply basically said - Thank you for visiting the Arrive Alive website. No anomaly. As stated on our schedules - the deployment may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. The officer in question was scheduled to attend a course on Monday but it was cancelled that day. He therefore undertook some enforcement.
The officer was monitoring vehicles heading from Dobshill through Tinkersdale towards Hawarden, ensuring vehicles travelling through the 30mph speed limit kept within the limit. The vehicle was visible within the 60m visibility criteria as suggested by the Department for Transport.

Aha,
Now wouldn't it be interesting if a few more Gogledd Cymru dwellers found vans where they are not scheduled to be and asked why they were there. Bet they get the same answer.
Unless Beth reads PH's of course.
