I've started to get a taste for gin lately.
Ive tryed,
Gordens, Ok not to bad, bit lemony taste overall ok.
Sipsmiths, I didnt think this was as good as gordens as it had a chemically 'cold' taste running through it, and for the price would have thought it would be better.
and Hendricks, this is the best I have tryed, very nice, as it should be for the price.
Is there any other good types out there I should be trying, Im trying to find a nice one an settle on that.
Is the overproof Plymouth gin worth it or should I just stick with regular stuff?
OH, an I dont like it with tonic, yuk, tonic is so bitter it just tastes awful, as does soda water. (tried the little cans you get in sainsburys of each an did not like it at all)

This, there are better Gins (I do prefer Hendricks) but as a standard Gin Sapphire is very good at the price.That said, we often end up with Gordons, as you say it's not bad and when you can often pick it up for around £13/litre then why not?

Love Tanqueray #10, especially at the current Costco price.
If you want an everyday whisky, I was VERY impressed with Sainsburys Blackfriars gin. Unfortunately they've gotten rid of the nice bell bottle they used, but it's £11 a bottle and very tasty.
If you can get it, No.209 is still my all time fav.

if you dont like tonic, make a gin martini at home. Its really easy.
you need some gin, some white vermouth (Noilly Prat from Sainsburys), ice, a spoon, a jug and a tea strainer.
Add 50ml gin and a teaspoon of vermouth to the jug.
add three handfulls of ice cubes.
stir with the spoon for a minute or so.
strain (so the ice doesnt fall out and make a mess) into your glass.
garnish with a lemon twist or an olive.
enjoy the best mixed drink in the world.
