It's the section of the hood that meets the door piller to stop the water that runs of the hood from going inside the car.

Elephant Ears! Wow been ages since we spoke of them, I've got a pic somewhere.

Old bike inner tube should do it.

LOL - I mentioned "elephant ears" to someone the other day and they looked at me like I was mad!

Mine are missing altogether having rotted off the roof fabric. biggrin

I still had them on the car when I stripped it down. Unfortunately the company I got to fit a new roof really F**ked it up so I couldn't refit the ears afterwards as I had originally intended. Still, just nick the inner-tube out of your kids bicycle, cut a section out and stick this to the roof hoop edge. Works just the same.

Having driven all day in pooring rain with my car last Saturday (first time since the rebuild), I have to say it remained bone dry inside. Not a drip. I now truly believe the ears make any difference whatsoever.

Pretty sure he doesn't mean those bits. I can't find the picture now, but it was on Big Al's Chimaera - he may still have the pic somewhere.

Does anyone have a photo of these? Mine does't have them and has a persistent leak around the area.

I am thinking I may need to sort this but I cannot picture what they are / should be.

All great and thanks for the advice.

Trouble is, without a photo its a bit difficult to picture.

Anyone got a photo, or can take one?

Cheers,

Rich

I too would be interested in a photo of it as I have a leak in the same area. Thanks.
