Hi all,
instructions needed .....

i just ordered a set of Gaz Gold Pro adjustable coilover kit for my Griffith 5.0

my question now is how to measure or what should I do befor I removed the old Dampers?
Is there an "Idiot TO DO List"?
Did any of you mounted on the Griffith the Gaz Gold Pro Dampers?
So what should or must be set before the shock mounted?
I read something about front 20mm, rear 30mm free length of thread?

May anyone of you may help me, thanks in advanced Tom

Hi Tom,

I can help you with the set up once on the car!
But always get mine thrown on and initial set up by someone who knows more than me!
I'm sure someone will be along shortly with all the info you need!, if not PM haircutmike as i know he has his off and on regularly and is very helpful and a top bloke to boot!
If not just ask Dereck @ Gaz he will give you all the info you need plus great factory support!
Good luck and enjoy!

Hi all

well,now it's done!
i ordered 2 Sets of the GAZ Gold Professional Series for my Griff and for my Tamora.
2 Days of hard work ... without a Lift , you'll know, doing it all at a cold and hard Beton surface in my Garage..haha

and i have to say there is a difference now! ok... after 14 Years young Griff and a 10 Years young Tam ..to change the shocks is ok.
The DamperSets for TVR a all the Same ...
the way it looks, there is no difference between Griffith and Tamora,
But the adjustment was very different.
The height und Clicks for example on my Tam Front and Rear 10 Clicks ....fine
on the Griffth 14 Clicks at Front and 16 Rear ...i like it.
Thanks to sales@gazshocks.com for there help.

Have you been on any rough roads with 14 and 16 clicks ,sounds a bit harsh to me .
I had mine set at 12 front 10 rear and i noticed the front end bobbing up and down.

Im hoping its just the wrong settings causing this

From soft GGP.. I must of looked liked a nodding doglaugh

Now set at 10 front 8 back and see how i go ,not had time to try it ,but if the problem persists there going back .!

I thought the GGP`s have around 20 clicks in total

I found the same Daz.

You need to give the springs time to settle then re-adjust the dampers to suit.

The thing is it took ages for the springs to settle, probably because it's such a light car.

3,000 miles later followed by some minor tweaks and they are spot on.

Always set from hard as you'll likely find about 2 or 3 clicks difference across the 2 dampers. I'm sure mine had about 40 clicks soft to hard!!!
10 front, 12 rear (from hard) should be about right as a starting point. Any softer and mine feels like a wallowing barge but its how it feels and personal preference.

I am using GGP,s and have them set 12 from soft (front) and 10 from soft (rear) which seems to work well for me. When I first installed them I lowered the ride height by 15mm front and 20mm rear (thought this was a good idea). The car felt horrible set like this, far too crashy over bumps and I used to find the front was porpousing up and down. I raised the ride height back to where it was previously and it made the world of difference, she now handles great a real improvement over the standard units.

If you have 40 clicks i think you have Gaz Nickles ..

Been out for a drive today set at 8 rear 10 front and i still feel like a nodding dog ! over 50mph even on fairly smooth roads..

Had them but GGP's now so maybe getting confused.
Have you got standard tyres and wheel sizes?

Hello Folks,
For completeness, I have to mention that I forward have 17 inch 215/40
and rear 18 inch 245/40 are mounted.
I was also surprised at the beginning when the dampers were installed, the 10 clicks from soft to hard was not enough.
Why 10 clicks ... I bought 2 sets .... First,I had installed the damper on my Tamora. And this feel's very well .... emotionally more effective gocart feeling and under which I thought it'll do it at the same for the Griffith.
In combination with these tires on the front axle, it was too soft.
Yes, Mean while, I think that the 16 clicks front are too hard!
Perhaps,I was a little too excited at the beginning!
I think,I will adjust again for another test drive, front and rear, too.
My home track is very curvy, and it goes up and down."Black Forest" ... haha
i had the feeling, it can not be tough enough.
then later, once I had noticed such a nod in the front, too!
like you discribed ...

yes, sometimes something else, has someone of you a Set Tuscan Seats?

and in the end, many thanks to you for replies. TTC

Darren as previous post turn them up a click or two may be worth dropping tyre pressure slightly depending on your pressure setting
