Well, you know how it goes...I went out in a break in the rain yesterday to track down the cause of the fuel pump not running and ended up with the complete dash, centre console, door trims, carpets and seats in the workshop...it was one of those..."well I've got this bit out, now I can get this bit out and clean/refurb that too..." moments, that end in something taken completely to bits :-)

It's never going to be back on the road this summer, so a refurb project it is!!! If I can work out how to host/post photos I'll put some up for amusement....

Not decided yet if it's going to be a complete body off job or just mechanics and interior...I'm guessing it'll end up body off... :-D

Wish me luck!

Yes I know the story. Ive read the same book and also got the 'T' shirt. You're not the first and you wont be the last biggrin

I started off by listening for a slight ticking noise - took the rocker covers off but couldnt find anything wrong - then thought I would look at the cam to see if that was the culprit and renew the crusty valley gasket at the same time - one necked off valley gasket bolt later and the engine was out being rebuilt and the chassis forward of the diff and all of the engine bay was refurbished.

Expensive ticking noise that one rolleyes

Yeah, not told the wife yet that it's become a refurb over a 'get it working' though she does know the interior is getting a 'freshen up'.

Nope - workshop at bottom of garden....just can't get the car in there (hence why I want to move)...pop round some time and I'll give you a tour of the bat-cave...

Well exhaust manifolds off (frpom the top) inlet off, heads off, wiring out...

Just got to drop the box and then the block will be coming out. Not a lot left of it now!!

Had a good call with Shaun at V8Dev yesterday so putting a shopping list together this week if i get the rest of the engine out so I can confirm what mains I have.

Also been in contact with Phil at MS for a new ECU so that'll be on order soon as well...

Christian,
I'd be interested to try it as a swap on the 430. Assume you'll be at the Growl.
