Well as per the title, BMW have said the work is warranty so can i be cheeky and ask for it to cover any and all costs associated with having to have the car repaired?

TBH im pleased not to have the £000's of bill and £30 is well £30 for the car?

Think typing this confirms that i wont ask but whats peoples experience? Lotus would sort it for me, but maybe that was goodwill rather than warranty coverage

I think they all charge for a courtesy car now, something to do with spiralling insurance costs.

You can always get it added to your own insurance... but some dealers still choose to charge an additional courtesy car fee even when you do this. They should build this into their cost of doing business, going to a BMW dealer should be more akin to flying BA than Easyjet. What our American friend's call "nickel and diming" is a real frustration particularly when you're paying a premium price anyway.

We never charged for a courtesy when I worked for BMW, all we asked was that the car was covered on your own insurance, if not then we covered you on our insurance but there was £1000 excess should you prang it.

Dealers always ask, just say 'no thanks'.

Bear in mind the cars are insured, the fee is usually an excess waiver, and the excess is generally £1000. So if you prang it, it might hard to avoid stumping up the excess.

Some insurers cover courtesy cars automatically - LV does, and I think that so does Aviva. Check your Insurance Certificate.

well bill for warranty cost was north of £800 apparently so 23 quid for car wasn't the end of the world!

I would of asked them, they can only say no. I think my dad may be a closet scotsman!
