Buyout: Why is it a bad thing?
Discussion
Opinion seems to be split on whether the buy-out is a good or a bad thing. Personally, I think the benefits provided by additional investment outweight any negative issues - you don't buy a company like that to run it into the ground, you buy it because you see potential. How do you realise that potential - you appeal to a broader market (or improve margins). Basically, to do that, you have to make the product better. Will that mean toning things down a bit? Maybe a little, but then you're trying to compete with Porsches and the like, which anyone can see is a losing battle, so the individuality is a key part of the brand.
So, to those who see this as a bad thing... what's actually so bad about it for us as TVR owners (or wannabes)?

If this wasn't a foreign investor but a British one id be happy, but as it is TVR is now a foreign owned company and another bit of our heritage gone.
It could be great for TVR but for future owners its uncertain what features will be placed on the car.
Will traction control, abs, airbags etc be fitted as standard or will it be optional. If your targetting other countries then surely these must be at the least options,if they are options fine if they are permanent then it will remove part of what makes a TVR special.
Then there is the uncertainty of long term build, its feasiable they could be built in any part of he world,ok ive read production will continue at Blackpool, but its not guaranteed.Rover have some of there cars built abroad so whats to stop a (in car manufactures term) a tiny company like TVR moving
Then there is the new owner,of which we know very, very little, and in all cases where facts are not present rumour abounds
Its really a case and wait and see whats said and done
Im just sad its no longer a British owner company
