Removing Dead Flies

It's that time of year when they commit hari kari by the shed load, leaving the question of how best to get rid of their remains from your pride an joy. (Snotters and Company Cars don't count who cares about their paintwork?)

Are there any good methods out there, or is it just warm water and elbow grease for you?

Auto Glym make a dead fly remover - spray it on, leave it for a min or 2 & the mess should just wipe off.

Get a large cotton towel, soak in hot water, lay over area with flies and leave for a while.

Softens them up nicely.

A layer or two of decent wax will not allow them to 'stick' with any real adhesion, normal washing will shift them with ease.

Leave your car out in the rain for an hour or two. Then, while it's still raining, wash the car with a sponge. Easy

Yep - have used this for the last few years and does a very good job

I have always found that baby wipes do a good job of removing bugs .... especially now we have a little 'un I have a plentiful supply!

Traffic film remover and a decent pressure washer! Not rocket science really! ;-)

Indeed, a lot of the dedicated products should work well, although you may find they could strip any paint protection eg wax, sealant etc.

Never had a problem since using a paste wax on the car. They just wash off with little effort.

Back in the day know I found the Turtle Wax (Platinum or Premium range, can't remember the name...green bottle) bug remover to be the best.

French supermarkets sell a spray bottle of stuff called 'demoustiquer' which works extremely well. I usually stock up when we're there.
