Hi
I'm looking to update my amp, current set up is:
Yamaha RXV640, Accoustic Energy 3B speakers - Bi-Wired with Silver Anniversary cables, Sky+HD, Panasonic DMR E50 DVD Recorder and Panasonic TH42PX tv.
The av remote is fubarred and I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade the amp.(I know I should do the dvd recorder(very rarely used these days) instead or as well as....but funds are a bit limited)also have a Pro-Ject 111 turntable, GoPro camera and HTC smart phone - all of which I would like to play on the tv via the amp. Also upload music onto the phone and convert my vinyl to cd. I need advice on that too

I nearly bought a Yamaha amp back just after christmas, a cheaper on that yours I think, and veared off at the last minute and bought a sony.
I wish I had got the Onkyo 609 now though. Not because the Sony is bad but because my requirements have changed now. Originally I wanted just a home cinema amp but have been bitten by the Hi-Fi side of things now and the 609 is meant to be able to carry off both duties.
As for putting music files on your Android phone, that real is a case of dragging and dropping mp3's from you pc to your phones memory card. Very straight forward. Let me know if I can be any more help.

Nice bit of kit, looked at the RXV671 just after Xmas, but it didn't have Preouts on it which I wanted and I couldn't justify the costs of the RXV771 at nearly £600 at the time, so got a RXV765 for £250(after some haggling, as they didn't have the model I had gone to buy, an older model, which they were advertising at that price).... v happy with sound, and picture and also using it as HDMI switch..... had a DSP E800 before, which I was happy with until I got the new toy, and then it was relegate to being s

te lol RXV771 is now the bargain of the century as it's just gone obsolete, so can be had new for £400-£450.
Ethernet - so can control it via a phone app and get firmware updates.
Preouts for all channels (inc 2 subs) - Great if you have active speakers
7 x 95W (RMS @ 8 ohm) - Great if you don't have active speakers
6 HDMIs in and 2 out.
Plus all the other usual stuff.
It's also the last of the moderately good looking Yamaha's (by their usual standards) as they've got the ugly stick out again for the current range.
It's a great unit and the phone app is great. I don't use the supplied remote unless absolutely necessary.
