Shimano Crank Screws - Urgent

Hi all, I wonder if someone can help me.

I am due to compete in a triathlon on Sunday with my GF, however the screw that holds the LH crank bolt into the bottom bracket on her bike has torn some threads and needs replacing.

From memory the bike is a 2011 Specialised Dolce running a Shimano 2300 group set. Is the screw that holds the crank arm on a standard size screw which fits loads of bikes? She has another screw on order but it isn't due to arrive for about another week.

In a nutshell, is the screw a readily available part that I can buy off the shelf quickly and in time for Sunday?

if so, yes it should be fairly easy to find. try a small independant bike shop not evans etc. take the one from the other side with you. alternatively, take it to halfrods/b+q and get one there.

'Crank bolt' is the terminology you want - any bike shop will have one for you, very common.

If your bike shop is anything like approaching decent, speak to the mechanic, wave biscuits at him and he should have one in a box of spares.
