Recently acquired a genuine Aston Martin DB9 indoor car cover.
This is one of those heavy soft silky ones with the Aston logo and DB9 on the side.
After putting it on my DB9 Volante I took it off to reveal a roof covered in fluff.
The soft underneath of the cover deposited fluff over every bit of the fabric.
This has all been removed using the old brown tape trick but it would become tedious after 2 or 3 times.
Is this because the cover was designed for a Coupe and not for the Volante or is there something I can do other than turning it inside out?
Thanks for your advice as usual.

Should have come with a soft thin liner which you put over the roof before the cover so this does not happen. Call them and ask. I think it would be a simple omission.

That makes sense.
Problem was I bought it secondhand.
Anyone out there got a soft liner for sale?

Hmm, never had that problem with mine. It's a kind of fleece with a more roughspun fabric outer but very much an indoor cover. Sounds like yours though, came from HWM.

My roof remains fluff free so something's not right. Mine was generic DB9 rather than Volante specific.

I have one of these covers, and have the exact same problem as Tarks, it's a real PITA. I too bought mine second hand, and it didn't come with a soft top cover, maybe I could use a cotton sheet cut to size.

I use a microfiber cloth to remove the fluff stuck to the soft top,

Just use a lint roller as used for removing pet hair from clothing. Should take but a few seconds to pick up.

I also bought one (new) for my V8V S and it's the same story but as mine is a Coupe it's not such a big deal other than I getting covered in black fluff when I take it off!

I just got back from the cleaners after a wash to see if it helps.

You may want to try to wash it. Mine is ok for 40c but my wash machine wasn't big enough.

Oof! Glad I didn't buy one then! I was tempted but went for a classic additions cover in the end.

If I were in your situation I woudl be asking my wife (nicely) to sew a coton liner on the inside of the cover at the place where it would in contact with the roof.

I bought a second hand genuine AM one (with the logo etc.) for my V8V roadster. It came without a liner, but I don't have the problem. Mine doesn't leave any 'fluff'

Same as mine then... My cover is dark red, is it colour dependent..?

So, did the washing help with the fluff ?
