So after an exhaustive search through both my '£2000 Car For A Roadtrip' and 'Cheap to insure, amusing vehicles' thread, I'm about to fail miserably at being a petrol-head.
I've been forced to narrow down my want list too 2 cars, an MG ZT, and an Iggy sport, i realise that this isn't massively bad. The problem is in reality I'm forced to narrow it down to too local choices... an 06 Micra 1.2E, and a 1.4 Fiesta Ghia.

My reality list has come to the fore for 2 reasons, most of my passengers on the road trip have had to back out, and the Iggy is so much more expensive than the Micra and the Fiesta.

Now to my question? should I hand in my PH smiley at the door and go with the Micra, it's free, or the fiesta, it's £1500, OR take the Micra, save for a few more months and get the IGGY or the ZT...

buy some thing even cheaper and more useless with cheaper insurance. with the money you save buy some tools to fix it and go gokarting once a month.

Fiesta for me, i had a micra as a hire car once & it was one of the worst cars ive ever drove, or keep saving, i feel for younger drivers of today as insurance is crippling, makes getting a decent car a real financial challenge.

Have a 2000 Micra 1.3, cheap, reliable little car, prefect for London. leagues ahead of the Fiesta imo. Oh and I am 29 and have certainly not hung up my PH gloves. There is plenty of time for nice cars and at 20 you have so much time.

Take the free car! Costs of driving are crippling enough for a young person, seize any opportunity to make it a bit less expensive! No rule that says you have to keep it forever anyway!

My only issue with it is that it may be the only car duller than my old corsa, I mean, at least the Corsa enjoyed falling to pieces so I could get my hands dirty fixing the bloody thing
As it stands all I'd get to do to the Micra is change the brakes, secure the doorcards, get to work with some touch up paint, pop out a couple of little dents, and and give it a service before the MOT is due.

Yeah, I have some lovely little drives that I used to do in the Corsa planned out already Many little backroads around my area, besides I often take trips to the highlands with the climbers had a lot of fun out there in the past
