I had this message tonight, along with 'DSC needs serviicing'. An engine restart seems to have sorted this.

Any idea what this might be and is it something other than a AM foiible?

Hi Neil,

More than likely nothing to worry about (I have had this pop up before), if the car has no other symptoms you should be fine.

Worth doing a code read if it happens again. Mines been in for some other work and the fault download showed nothing related to this.

Cheers

Wasn`t it handy when we had someone like Rick at DMS who would pop in with a bit of reassurance.Whilst plenty have come along to offer servicing, the old quick free advice from an expert is not as readily available and much missed.

Thanks for the responses. I'm pretty new here and so I’ve never had the opportunity to experience the Rick from DMS era but he sounds like a pretty good chap from the previous posts I’ve read.
My vehicle is under warranty so I’m not too spooked by these messages, but along with this one I also get the Emissions Service Warning, which sorts itself eventually.
I’ve had that chat from the AM service manager that goes something like, if Sir wants reliability then Sir might prefer German engineering…
I actually don’t mind these foibles if they can be dismissed, but I don’t want to find in a few months’ time that I’ve caused damage by not taking any notice of them…
I should close this by saying the AM experience is amazing and I’ve never looked back.
Neil

It may be the start of a pressure switch fault (pretty common and not expensive), but as ever there could be a number of causes, best get your local friendly tech-guy to plug in their diagnostics as suggested.

Actually it is, but you have to post on the Bamford Rose thread (top of the page). Mike is not allowed to post outwith his sponsored area.

So if you want free advice... there it is! smile

I get the DSC warning up often, but I think it is to do with the fact that I press and hold the button biggrin

Seriously as said, these are cured normally by an engine restart. If persistent, get it plugged in and checked out.

Also, if you post on 6SpeedOnline as well, there are two members (Irish07 and AMFixer) who appear to be factory trained AM techs and are extremely helpful.
