I don't really understand it ... I've downloaded the demo, played through the tutorial, and then played it a second time to do a bit more exploring in the time limit provided. However it just seems to be a game where you mine different materials, make a few different tools, build a shelter, and then kill some animals!
I feel it could get tedious after a few hours, a bit like 'The Sims' ...
Just to add, I've seen some of the larger scale buildings and replicas that people have built in the Minecraft environment and they're very impressive. However, no one will see them unless you video it! Maybe you need a creative side? Meh!

The fun bit was playing custom maps with friends on PC. Not sure if you get custom maps quite yet for the Xbox version. I feel it could get tedious after a few hours, a bit like 'The Sims' ...

It gets old very quick playing on your own.
Confirmation already of the planned first update to the 360 version, to add pistons, shears and other stuff.

You have to do some serious exploring to find good materials. I don't have a clue what I'm doing but I started inside a friend's house and just decided to dig straight down for quite a long time. Then i found diamonds and alot of lava.. Then I died, must remember you have to be able to bring all your new good's back to the surface otherwise the hours of digging is useless! xDI feel it could get tedious after a few hours, a bit like 'The Sims' ...

I was playing this earlier on the xbox trial version, had made a little hut, decked it out with some torches, a winding stone staircase to a rooftop fortress and lookout. Got some pork cooking, and set about turning a pond into a moat, the water flow physics don't seem that intuitive, or realistic. Water flows downhill you say? Not in Minecraft!
Still, it was great fun and before I knew it the timer was up and I was kicked out of my own game. I think I will probably buy this at some point, a great one for chewing up the odd hour in the same way I do with Forza.

At least on the xbox version you can aim for the achievements as well.
My kids (8&4) love this game. I downloaded the trial version for them which works ok without the xbox on xbox live. They want the full version of it now.
The missus was in game with them and they do a card for £14 (?) which gives a code to allow access to the full game but sounds like you then need to be on xbox live to play it.
It's a pain in the hole to have a cable from where the xbox is to where my router is, we don't currently have a wifi adaptor thing or homeplugs.
Is this one of these games that's useless without being on line or am i going to have bite the bullet and pay for xbox live for a year and connect it to the network?
