Back to previous car, stick or move on?

I think I need to consult the PH masses to help me to understand what I should do next with my cars! I currently have a Vectra VXR as the family bus, a Clio 182 for the missus, and a 2000 Boxster S as my current toy.
I bought the Porsche last August to upgrade from my mk1 Mx5, and since buying have done a lot to improve it - new tyres all round, big service and front suspension arms being only part of the list! It drives a lot more nicely as I've been getting it sorted, and I took it for a first trackday a couple of weeks back, which was great fun. The drawback of the day though was that I kept looking at the tyres and worrying that I'd be taking chunks off them, or that I'd kill the brakes - or worse the engine! I really enjoyed the day, and fancy doing more trackdays - but am a little concerned that the boxster could get very expensive with track use in consumables, even doing work myself.
I was mulling this over today with my mate that bought the Mazda from me, and he was saying that he doesn't think he's using the mazda enough, so if I wanted to buy it back, then he'd be happy to do a deal. That has lead me to a dilemma in wondering whether I might be better to take him up and sell on the porsche. The mazda would certainly be cheaper for track use (but then I'd likely only be doing 2-3 days a year), and to me felt much more alive to drive. It's obviously not all rosy, and it is a lot slower than the porsche and less of an event, and a little less practical (I also use the porsche most days for work, and take my son to nursery in it). I guess I'd also be down by pretty much the full value of the mazda that I've spent on the work done to the porsche, which I doubt I'd recoup.
So what to do - keep the porsche, go back to the mazda (I could then probably spend a bit on tweaking it), or go to something else?
