Does anyone have a view on how much completely new carpets and mats should cost?

You can find several sites on the web that supply full sets. Prices start at about £350 and go up to about £550 depending on the quality of the carpet.

Quotes I got ranged from .£600 to £1000 but ended up just ordering front carpets from DC Trim as that was really the only bad areas. I'm pretty sure though Daz got a good deal somewhere but search is down

No i have not managed to get a deal because they are taking the pcensoreds

A recent conversation with a well known company ended in an argument

I asked do you make all your carpet sets ? answer "yes"

Why are you charging more than double for the TVR carpets? answer "because there are around four extra pieces on average"

Well four pieces does not equate to double the price anwser "Its a "TVR"furious

Examples Bentley MK VI Carpet Set £249

MGB Roadster £120

Chimaera £343

Jaguar E Type V12 2+2 MK III Carpet £213

I think you will find £500 - £600 is the going rate for quality carpets fitted by a proffestional trimmer.

Make no mistake it's not a 5 minute job.

I used Gary Creasy at Hoods & Trims:

http://hoodsandtrims.co.uk/

He's a proper old school trimmer that takes pride in his work.

After some rejected samples based on concerns over mediocre quality, we selected some very high quality wool Wilton carpet in red from Martrim.

The red turned out to be a very close match to the true colour of my original TVR Cranberry ones that had faded to a nasty pink.

http://www.martrim.co.uk/catalogue/wool-wilton-car...

Gary made everything to the car for the perfect fit & bound all the edges in the correct Doeskin by hand.

The end result was stunning.

Most importantly to me there has been absolutely no signs of fading.

As we all know that's something you can't say about the original carpet material TVR used.

Only time will tell but my new carpets have seen two summers including a couple of trips to the South of France where temperatures often rose above 90 degrees and the car was consistently left in the baking sun with the roof down.

My advice would simply be:

Buy the best carpet quality you can afford, select your trimmer carefully and expect to pay £500 - £600 for a quality job.

Have to admit, Daz had a point why should we pay double because it Tvr?

It's the same carpet and same size give or take that's going in other cars

Thanks, all. I think after 14 years the old girl needs a bit of TLC. Will try and post photos when done.

has anyone used a fitter in the midlands area?
mine is stripped out and I was going to fit the carpets today. I've got a set from Coverdale (robbed on price) but it looks like a pain in the ass! Can't work out which parts go where and bits still need trimming to suit etc
I'd rather just get someone to do it for me, one of the only jobs I really can't be bothered to do

Best thing to do is use your old carpets ad the templates and the trimmer will make the new carpets to suit. That is if you hav'nt abliterated your old carpets that is. Not one car is exactly the same interior size frown. Tvr's are brill arnt they.

yeah i had to cut the old ones out and most of them had been cut up already, they were a right state.
i was going to do them myself so bought the set, but it's a bigger job than I thought and I have so much other stuff to be getting on with I would rather get someone to fit carpets
