Yes, appropriate answer. Like a lot of manufacturers, large engine sizes in the 30s, 40s wasn't too uncommon. Basically you need to ascertain if your mate is talking about "...something huge, like 8 litres or something...!" - basically a bit of hyperbole involved, and he's talking about something old like a 770 or if he's got something that's entertaining a more modern 7.3 V12.
