Thank you - it's mine!
I own several sevens and, sadly, this one has to make room for others. I know I will kick myself for selling it as it's a great driving car (much better than S2s and S3s when you are 6ft 3" tall) and I am sure the S4 is substantially undervalued at present.
Oh well, I can't keep them all..!

I purchased 'Eugene' from Guy some 25 years ago, when he was at Caterham...
And recently I've purchases a couple of Elises from him (not at the same time!).

It looks a good buy, most of the distinctive S4 features are there, and can be seen clearly in the photo's.
If it's as good as seller claims then someone's gonna get a good buy - wonder if it's UK road tax exempt?

I have to say I'm with Mel (S47) here - and I don't always agree with him (hi Mel!). Some of the comments on the Blat Chat thread are just cringe worthy...
Why do people with no direct experience have to be so damn negative.
Speak with knowledge and authority by all means, but my mum always told me if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all, or at least just say 'not to my taste'.
So say it's 'Sh*t without being able to say why is just appalling bigoted behaviour, in my view.
Sad, very sad.

t and he has clearly stated why he is of that opinion. I, like many others, do not find the S4 at all pleasing to the eye and should be free to express that opinion.For the record I have described S4's as pig ugly in another post and I still hold that opinion.

I just find it unnecessary to make sweeping statements that are not factual...
Just because 'you' (the general you, not you the specific) dislike something there is no need to try to generalise that.
If that makes me seem bigoted, so be it, but based on the definition someone saying something 'is' st seems to meet that definition better than anything I have said...

Have to agree. I think the S4 is ugly and I reserve the right to state my opinion even if I haven't driven one. If I was rude about the seller whom I don't know but wish him well with his sale than that would be a different matter.Saying 'I think...' is fine, saying 'it is...' is what I struggle with

I do have to say that the lack of knowledge of the history of the Lotus and Caterham 7's displayed on PH and Blatchat is astounding.
Caterham Cars acquired the rights to the Lotus 7 in 1973 when Lotus decided to discontinue production. CC then went on to produce 30 or so S4's. The reason they reverted to the S3 was purely economic. Parts for the S4, such as windscreen frames and door frames could not be sourced in the low volume that CC needed, hence the reversion to the S3.
I have owned a Lotus 7 S4 for 16 years. I left the L7C in 1996 because of exactly the same attitude displayed by some of the contributors on here and BC. I do find it a bit strange that as a Lotus 7 owner of 16 years, I feel I am not welcome in the Lotus Seven Club as I have a car which does not fit the mould!

Many of us in L7C- probably the silent majority in fact- are just as welcoming to S4 and 21 owners(and CSR and SV come to that ) as to the more traditional S3 model. The history of the S4 is very well known to me and many other members- rather too many of us can remember them in period ! As on PH , Blatchat has some idiots- and sometimes it's the same folk on both forums of course. The S4 is very much of its time- and there is nothing wrong with that at all.
