Changes to new mot rules regarding abs, air bag lights etc.
Discussion
Ive found out today that there has been a change in the rules for the abs, air bag lights etc.
It was introduced that both lights have to come on for a set time then turn off if it didn't do this either not come on all at all or didn't extinguish then it would be a reason for a fail.
This has been changed so that it can only be failed if the light stays on so if you have an abs, air bag light etc on then remove the bulb as it can't be failed for the light not illuminating at all.
This has been varified with a couple of guys in the motoring trade that do mots and by my lectures in college.

At least you know where to take your car for the MOT then. Don't believe anything your college lecturers say, I did a mechanic course at college and the old saying about "those who can, do" applies.
Well i do believe my lecture as he does the diagnostic courses, works with various manafactures, police force does a lot of trainning for different compaines he knows his stuff and knows more about cars and the trade then properly 95% of the people on here it also been varified by mot testers i know, it doesn't bother me as i have a car without an ecu or air bags, abs etc.Just letting people know and personaly with abs i think it's wrong it's being applied it should be fixed but air bag etc can't see the problem myself.
