Evening gents (and ladies?)

I'm struggling to find anything on internet searches so thought I would ask on here.

I am after an amplifier that will take four stereo line inputs and then output each input individually to seperate pairs of speakers around the house. I don't want the amp to be able to send say source one to speakers three or anything fancy.

I would also like it to be able to sense when there is an input signal and switch on/off appropriately?

Is there such a thing because I seem to be really stuggling?

Thanks

What are your sources and what are you trying to achieve?
You might be approaching this from the wrong angle, would something like a Sonos system do the job?

I have been looking at Sonos and trying to figure out what will be best between different setups. It's also what would be the best controller to manage the different zones which is where the Sonos apps come in to their own compared to what else I have seen.

Initial thought was Sonos in each room but then you are looking at either £250 or £350 per S3/S5. If you want a stereo pair then double it. You soon realise that it could cost a lot of money.

Then I thought about using Apple airport express units so that each fed a different room but then the cost of four of them, a suitable amp and then four pairs of speakers adds up to a lot of money as well.
