Hi, I'm just about to embark on ownership of a Bergwerk Black Roadster, I have read loads about clutch learns & batteries, but believe it or not my main question is which companies seem to understand insuring a car such as this? Any tips gratefully received.

Glad to hear it mate. Better still, get it detailed and then post some pics. And then get some of Tony's knobs.

Hi and welcome

My roadster has the n400 engine conversion work done and Lockton's had no issues with it at all.
Infact I was looking at two 'tweaked' cars in the end, one with the 425bhp Prodrive engine work done (chip and exhaust mod) the other the n400 I purchased. Lockton's said no premium increase for either car.

Thanks Max, that sounds one heck of a car there, did you access the insurance through a broker or an on line site?

Lockton have a very good insurance scheme offered via AMOC.

Congrats on the N400 by the way, best of the 4.3's IMO - enjoy the beast.

CK, just went to them direct - 0207 933 0000 (they offer AMOC memership foc as part of the insurance).
They worked for me as I have managed to keep my other cars insured with another provider as they were and the AM is insured exclusively with Lockton. Might not be the cheapest but worked well for me.
Good luck

Max thanks very much for this, this sounds like the way to go, when I had the TVR I had an Admiral multi car policy, but they wouldn't let me renew with just one car! Thanks for the heads up

Looks like I'm getting very close now, my broker & an Aston approved broker have quoted me on an Aviva policy that looks pretty cool, so that' s the way I'm going at he moment, I actually drove the car last night & the excitement is overwhelming, I don't think I will actually realise what I am doing until I drive it off the forecourt... Can't wait biggrin
