crank/cam timing
Discussion
You don't need marks on the vernier. Set the engine at tdc using a dial guage on number one piston and a 360 degree disc on the nose of the crank. Or use a positive stop in number one plug hole. Then put the crank into the full cam degree lift position. Rotate the cam until you have full lift. Then tighten the screws in the vernier. Slowly rotate the engine 2 revolutions to make sure nothing fouls and recheck you have full lift of x amount of thou at x crank degrees. Also check the valve springs aren't coil bound. I think that's about it. You should have been given instructions with the kit.
