Just got TVR Power e-newsletter. Nitrous kit for Rover V8.
Power is stated at 350bhp on a 4 litre, though it does include the 4 litre upgrade package. They aim to reach 390-400

Theres quite a few people having Nos on their tivs now so it seems.
I know that APM fit them too. There is an advert for them with prices in Sprint. I think its around £1K but can't be sure. Someone will no doubt correct me in a minute.
Nos is also gradually becoming more insurance friendly.
Afterall it has the same effect as adding more oxygen, as would a turbo or supercharger, so there shouldnt really be any extra problems.

it shouldn't be, but when it come to insurance, you try and find a company that will insure you with it, that will also be competitive on a TVR....
Adrian Flux will insure a Highpower kit fitted by Highpower, but there are the worst insurance company ever and are still not really competitive
Direct Line do it and they wouldn't even quote me on the TVR... I've been wanting to fit it to the Sierra for 18 months, but everywhere i've spoke to wants to load the premium by some silly amount and even if i did accept this they can't get anywhere my base level quote policy without the N20!
My fear is pretty much everyone who is running it is doing so without declaring it on there policy, meaning they are effectively uninsured... they better not run into me or my family uninsured or i'll be having words

Except that the car is carrying a high pressure cylinder full of a strong oxydising agent. Car catches fire and kapow for a start. The risk is higher so premiums go up.

All I mtrying to say is that insurance companies love an excuse to make pots more cash. I remeber reading a case were someone put a go faster stripe down their fiesta and got charged hundreds more.

On an MR2 turbo an insurance company allowed me to have bigger rims, an Apexi induction kit, an HKS exhaust system and a modified ECU but said they would not insure the blitz or any other dump valve because it adds performance and the other parts dont. Apparently the other parts just help the engine breath according to them!
They said they would not insure it if any dump valve was fitted but they come with one as standard anyway!

I fitted NOS to a Suzuki Bandit 1200... went like a rocket and steared like a cow... fantastic fun. However just about every insurance company that I called would say.. so you fitted laughing gas to your bike and you want us to insure it for you... Ho Ho blinkin Ho... nutter.... bzzzzzz

Why would it be any hotter? (and is it possible to get any hotter?!).
Not wishing to create an arguement, just dont understand why it would be extraordinarily hotter.

well the n20 actualy cools the inlet charge, this is why on a Turbo car you actual get even higher gains because of this lower charge temperature.
however that fact that you are putting more load on the engine i.e. spinning it up faster in theory would make it run hotter. However the reality is that you only use it for short busts 5-15 seconds and the effect isn't really a problem... lets face it if you were on full throttle without nitrous for over 15 seconds how fast would you be going? let alone with the stuff

There are companies out there who will insure you.
You may need to join the NSRA drag club before some will or use Adrian Flux and pay that extra premium but they will insure you.
Age and car always affects the insurance qoutes even if you only upgrade the basics.

Sorry mate don't mean to offend you but thats rubbish track days and drag racing dont mind if the cars have it or not as long as they pass the event requirements for safety!
I would recommend talking to TVR power for your NOS requirements and see how they can help.
