We've got some time booked off in October to get away for up to 2 weeks. Can anyone recommend somewhere which is hot enough in October? (The main thing being the recommendation, as whilst I can look at the weather, I'm not quite sure where would be worth going)

I'm actually quite keen on going for another 'all inclusive' holiday, and just relaxing (as this year we'll have been to Munich, Wales, Amsterdam and Prague - all very hard work).

I've had a week in Lanzarote in October and had a hot week but not sure if this is guaranteed.
I've also had a week long hot beach holiday in Mallorca in the middle of October but again, this may be luck.
Zanzibar is hot in October but a little further away and I think Florida is good then too.

We're definitely looking for 'guaranteed' nice weather, if possible. Florida is a good idea actually, though I've been twice before (and I think it's better suited to a few people going).

Isn't October still hurricane season in the Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico?

You could try Aruba (is south of the hurricane belt) if all you want to do is sit on a beach, or Mombasa (although you may get some rain towards the end of Oct, it will be short-lived)

You won't find many all-inclusive places but Cape Town is nice in October. They drive on the same side of the road, lots to see and do, beautiful scenery and good food&drink.

The Gambia. Six hours flight, no jet lag , guaranteed weather. The sheraton is all in and ok for lounging in the sun. However theres naff all to do if you fancy a break from the pool.

The Gambia Experience is the company that we've used over the years

Hawaii.
Over two weeks you can spend time on at least two islands, see Pearl Harbour, big mountain, the sets of all your favourite Hawaii based TV shows.
You can probably get a night in SanFran on the way there or back.

Hawaii would be my choice, been to Florida several times in October and never had any problems with the weather. It can get a little chilling in the evening further north in Florida but the southern half is fine.

The Maldives late Sep / early Oct is around 30 - 35 degrees during the day. Humid though; mrs k & I were sitting on the verandah at 10 in the morning sweating like buggery.

Then again, a more agreeable place to sweat like buggery in the morning we've yet to find.

We went to Jamaica in October and it was 30 degrees everyday...

...it did rain between 4.30-5.30 every day though but was a nice refreshment.

A lot of great suggestions, thanks! I suppose it depends how much we can stretch to, but the top limit would be £1200pp for 2 weeks; ideally less.

I don't think that'll get me a decent holiday in a few of those places - it won't even get me the flights to some of them!

The Gambia fits the bill. No, I'm not on commission.

Any of the Canary Islands. I'm sure this could be cheap if you look well, particularly with the low flight prices.

Depends what 2 weeks you are looking at, as school half terms will affect the price
