Top Fuel run, looking backwards
Discussion
Corey Michalek attached a Go-Pro camera, pointing backwards, to Pat Dakin's Top Fuel car at Atlanta last weekend. An interesting view...

Hmmm. Still quite a bit of distortion on the image. I'd been considering getting a GoPro camera in the hopes that it would suffer less from vibration than the previous camera I used. Maybe it will. After all, I'm not burning nitro and the vibrations on my car are likely to be significantly smaller :-)

Hello Andy. Long story, I dabble in the outskirts of the hobby of video recording by the use of radio controlled aircrafts and unfortunately that kind of distortion is a problem with the technology used in some of todays digital cameras, some of them more high-end than the GoPro. Google on "jello effect" or "rolling shutter" and you'll get a lot of hits.
Having said that, AFAIC, the GoPro product line is A-1 as was the clip that started this thread. But the crew should've cleaned the lens/casing

I'm glad you think highly of the Go Pro,as that is the camera Wil has got for our car for next time...I'll make sure Wil cleans the lens beforehand though..
