Hi there, just got my first tvr,a chimaera and have just noticed a clicking noise comeing from what i think is the drivers side rear wheel bearings, it only dos't from standing still and very slow speeds, the previous owner had fitted new bearings not long ago, and i'm sure it didn't do it on the test drive and the first few times i drove it, has anybody come across this before.I haven't got a socket large enough to get the hub nut off yet so am a bit in the dark cheers

Clicking noise could well be cv joint.

This is quite likely but it could be something as simple as a cable tie on the CV joint gaiter catching.

Sounds like a CV joint but possibly a drop link or as I had once small stone in the caliper

Is it a stone in the tyre? ,i bought some new wheel bearings from the local auto factors, only lasted 6 months .

I then went back to the same place ,they supplied some better quality bearings ,another £6 and to date evrything is fine .

I'll do a +1 for CV joints ... mine sounded like a tapping sound when cornering slowly. biggrin

Hi it could be the diff the LSD part not releasing mine click/clunks. Try pushing the car with the front wheels straight there should be no noise. Then turn the steering wheel slightly if it clicks/clunks its the diff LSD not slipping but gripping- you could try some additive to cure

Hi there, got my socket today (£9 from amazon) torqued up the hub nut no more clicking, just came back from a quick spin gave it a bit of stick still no clicking,so it seems like whoever fitted the bearings didn't torque them up correctly hopefully the're not damaged, anyway thanks to everyone who responded probaly talk to you again soon cheers ooh i luv it
