Hi Tim,

Bummer dude

I'm not sure if you can just buy the glass. If not you'll need replacements (and get some covers).

Dont panic and do not pay dealer prices:

Comparison:

1) Driving lamp COVERS (get a set of these )

Dealer price: £25.50 EXCLUDING VAT

Our mate FergusD ( www.lotusecosse.com ): £12 INCLUDING VAT

2) Drivers LAMPS

Dealer price: £115.76 EXCLUDING VAT

The Big Scot: £36 INCLUDING VAT

sources used:

http://shop.christopherneil.co.uk/acatalog/Christopher_Neil_Electrical_159.html

(dealer)

and

www.lotusecosse.com/

(FergusD)

Fitting:

Is macclesfield too far? I noticed your in Chesterfield (I was in tupton the other day ) so you should be able to nip across for a day.

if your willing, try Bruce at www.med-reg.co.uk (He is AromaT on these boards). He'll take care of your car and do a better job than the dealers (cheaper too). It wont take 5 hours.

And relax.

Bonce

You can change the lamp without removing the clam.

Just need small fingers and a small flat blade screw driver, the screws holding the lamp are spring mounted so dont drop them inside the clam...like I did.

Thank god for that! Still, it sounds like one of those jobs where the touch of a surgeon, the strength of a gorilla and eyes like a hawk are required!

S1 ?

In 90% of cars the lamps can be replaced without removing the clam . . .

The one screw you think is unaccessable (the one in the lower corner IIRC), usually can be persuaded out - it's plastic therefore it can be bent ;-), and if sawn down a little prior to refitting, can very simply be replaced . . . saves hours, no change to the final result . . .

Dealers almost always give the stock answer of clam off . . . I bet they don't always do it !

S2 driving lights are super-easy. Just pop out the grille (4 small clips at the top and then you can pull it forward) and you can unbolt the brackets and lights.

Actually.. Lotus design braindead-ness happens here as well as you need to remove the driving lights to be able to change the bulbs in them. The bulb is secured in the housing with a screw which is simply un-accessible with the lights in place..

Bye, Arno.
