While doing the clutch I did a few jobs underneath - put some more high=temperature "indestructible" paint on the exhaust manifolds - usually lasts a year or so. Then tackled some surface rust on the chassis.

It must be said that the driver's side sill with the fuel pipe strapped to it is a nightmare rust trap! Scraped off the flakey paint and then painted over with Hammerite rust stuff - stuck to my hands like glue so should stay on there and protect.

Alan will probably know this but is the square sill tube all one piece and hollow all the way along? I was wondering whether to try filling it up with oil and therefore to drill a small hole each side - and plug it after filling.

the pillar behind the doors where the top of the seat belt attaches, where that pillar connects to the floor and is through bolted to the chassis, mine where totally fked, i had to cut the foot off both and re fabricate new ones, fairly easy job just a bit time consuming but worth checking.

Adam , why did Tvr 'strap' the fuel pipes on the outside of the outrigger , seems very very dangerous , why not under the chassis where they would be protected from damage ?

I think the idea was to keep them away from the exhaust...

When i reran my fuel lines i ran them on the top of the sill as there is enough space to have them up there away from sight and the exhaust.

Steve - with so many VIP's coming to the Fest I'm sure you can collar some of them and get the low down on these design decisions...

This was mine, front and back near side last year. They looked sort of ok from underneath apart from a hole in the flat plate. Offside were just as bad

Yeah, had all the corners done now, and loads of thick loverly ant rust goo on. They are easy to keep an eye on.

Fill it up with oil .. are you trying to kill yourself.

With TVR quality welding - it will be over your rear wheels on the first high speed corner
you come to and you will be through the hedgerow faster than a rat up a drainpipe.
