Insurance question

Car parked on residential street. Large lorry, misdirected down the road from a building site, drives into the car. Lots of cosmetic damage only, quote from mini £3500! Driver and company have admitted liability and will claim on their insurance. Will insurance company insist on other quotes for the work? I wish to use BMW/mini as car is in the official network and only worked on by them.

Any ideas or advice on the situation in general please?

I suppose it depends on who your insurance company is. I am insured with Esure - if I don't use their approved repairers they charge £200!!

You can choose where to have your car repaired. Might take some reminding and some companies will charge a higher excess if you go outside their preferred network.
