As above really, has anyone done it?

I have read plenty of threads where people have said it would be cool to run a de-spoilered car with FMIC and a blank bonnet - thinking about this route coupled with some nice jap rims.

One of the things that got me thinking bout doing this is the fact that my car has an sti8 spoiler which leaks like fk!
My boot is pretty much constantly wet. Ive tried running a bead of silicone round it but it never worked.

Dont like the wrx spoiler and never seen an aftermarket one so my damp patch is pushing me into a smoother "stealth" look for the car.

Opinions, pics, fellow damp patch drivers - all welcome.

Saw a few Imprezas with this look while I was in Vegas recently, very "ricey" as they would say. Looks cheap and nasty imo, turns a good looking rally rep in a Mcdonalds Barry special.

How mine looks 99% of the time

How it looks when it's getting ready for the drag strip

i) They look st without the spoiler
ii) They are subject to rear end lift at high speed when running without the spoiler

(It was commong for cars to run spoiler less at the MLR 30-130 event, until one guy span at 180mph and it's since been banned.)

But the main reason is that it looks st. (IMO!)

yes

Take the spoiler off to make it more of a sleeper, however, forgetting that you have a 4inch exhaust hanging under the bumper.

Without the bread bin on the bonnet and the picnic table on the boot lid, they just look like an incredibly dull saloon. Which is ironic if your after a sleeper, as in my opinion a sleeper should still look good, just not shout about its performance credentials...

I just saw this pic and quite liked it:

So nobody is a fan. This moves me on to how to stop my current spoiler leaking?

Go to a decent scooby spanner man. They will have a trick to fix this. You probably just need a decent gasket or seal where the bolt holes are.

It does not look good because it looks like its missing something. Even somebody who had never seen a scooby before would think that... And then the drainpipe exhaust and prodrive sticker... hehe

My mate did his STi V (460bhp)

Not really a sleeper as it's lowered and loud as fk.

I rather like it though

Ultimately it doesn't matter what others think. If you like it wingless have it wingless as that is all that matters. Peoples opinions are just that...Opinions which are neither right nor wrong.

If you want to go wingless do it, despite it looking totally gash!! hehe

I've been running an EVO 6 without the wing for about 2 years now and I'll probably never put it back on!

There's nothing better to bait estate agents in Boxsters with!

I've always thought it looked st. If it wasn't meant to have a wing it wouldn't come with one!

Do you know why a 6 came with a wing?

I found the best use for the wing was as writing platform for the Highway Patrol.
