Going to change mine as well because i dont know how old it is. Wouldnt surprise me if its original.

Anyway mines an early 2 pin attached to the side of the dissy. The Lucas ones i can find on Ebay are the 3 pin ones. I know you can get a lead to convert to the later 3 pin but was just wondering where the amp is situated on the later cars. Am i right in thinking its not on the dissy. Anyone got a pic of its location.

Carsy, when the ignition amp is not on the dizzy its on a bracket attached to the front offside rocket cover bolt - up near the coil.

Is this what you're after?

http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/lucas-dab118...

I think there are 3 pins on one side and 2 pins on the other - maybe I'm wrong.

Yes.. thats the one... But £30!... and it's 'New' Lucas... I think the idea is to get the old Lucas stuff if you can find it as it's ment to be better...

Thats the problem, original Lucas items are becoming few and far between. Yes there is new Lucas but with the company having been bought out by whoever, their stuff now is probably as much a gamble as anything else.

^This yes the new stock late stuff is not the same as the NOS 3 Lucas modules I bought from Ebay some years back from a Mini specialist at £20 ea and these had the new 3 pin multi-plug to Ign coil loom in the box too(no not 2 to 3 pin converter) keep looking they do come up, unfortunately if I still had some spare I would pass them on but they are all sold/used now frown
