Lemonade II - Golf GTI

Hi All,
After 4 years owning a fantastic Leon Cupra R 225(named lemonade after its plate LM04NDE) I was becoming a little bored of it using it for just trips to the girlfriends and the shops plus really needed the extra money towards a house deposit so the time came to sell up.
The hunt then began for something new and after 3 weeks of dodgy traders and some even worse private sellers I came across a mk3 Golf GTI locally with 51,000 on the clock in immaculate condition. It turns out it was as described with every receipt going back 17 years to the original purchase receipt for £14k! So I snapped it up for shed money and given its silver like the Leon it’s only fitting its named Lemonade II (previous owner’s photos)
Bad bits
Gearbox is like stirring porridge and I am struggling to get 1st gear
MFA clocks that show oil temp, mpg etc have a broken LCD
Stereo isn’t even attached
Repair/replace alloys
Detail exterior and clean up minor chips
Engine bay needs some TLC
Interior smells like a wet dog
Regular service items
A little asthmatic and not exactly exciting at the moment but later on there may be a possibility of a v6 or 1.8t as the shell and exterior are staggering considering the age.
