Hi all.

So I finally got my first 911, I have wanted one for years.

Its a late 2006, Targa 4, PSE, Nav, Phone, Heated seats, Xenons, Bose, 35k on the clock and 7 months OPC warranty.

Im going to put some turbo alloys on it and change the steering wheel to a Gen 2 wheel but that all I plan to do. I will probably keep it for about a year and then upgrade to a Gen 2 PDK or a Gen 1 Turbo.

I upgraded from a 375 bhp 335i, to be honest the 335i felt faster around town but the porsche has something special about it.

one question, the clutch is very heavy, is this normal?

Always fancied a Targa. , think they look really smart including this one.

But when it came to pulling the trigger , I bought a C2 manual.

Never regretted it.

To be honest I think the lines are nicer on a standard C4 compared to the Targa however having the glass roof makes up for it. its so nice and bright inside the car.

You get most of the benefits of a Cab without the downsides.

Sadly I have had the car for about 6 weeks but not had a chance to drive it for the last 4 weeks lol.

I wouldnt but Turbo alloys on it, they look far too blingy.

It looks great with the crab claws.

I'm on my first 911 too after wanting one as a kid, absolutely love it & can see myself owning one for a long time. Special cars as you say.

It might be ready for a new clutch. Shouldn't be particularly heavy.

Another +1 here, those wheels really suit it; the only other wheels I would change them for would be carrera classics, turbos look far too aftermarket IMO.

Im not keen on the lobster alloys at all but I do like the Sport Design, I just that the Turbo alloys would be better for the resale as I only plan to keep the car for about a year.

Looks fantastic as it is. Turbo alloys would be a mistake IMO. I think they look horrid when people put them on Carrera's.

Niiiice ! Enjoy the sunny weather in it.

If it's your first RWD, respect it a bit in the wet, or track/airfield it to learn how it feels on the limit.

If I was buying the turbo alloys would probably put me off a targa! Congrats. Looks stunning!

I somehow doubt it given the OP's username smile

Targa 4 suggests it isn't RWD.

Thanks for the input on the alloys, looks like the turbo alloys are not popular, so how about the Sport design alloys:
http://www.total911.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02...

its not my first RWD car, I came from a 375 bhp 335i. I wanted a 4 over a standard C2 because I was a little worried I may not be able to handle the car but having had a C2S PDK over the weekend its really not an issue.

Clutch, particularly first can be slightly heavy when cold compared to a BMW but not very. If it is a bit notch got to first via second. I love the Targas. Enjoy.
