If a Gen1 997 has had a full engine replacement at Porsche and we have the receipt, is there any way to tell if the new engine was a Gen 1 or Gen 2?

The car is a 2004 with an engine change in 2010.

Anything else I should look out for on Gen1 997's, other than the engine issues?

Many thanks

Any opc should be able to tell you if you provide them with the engine number.

It will be a gen 1 recon unit if fitted at an OPC.

Can't imagine a gen 2 dfi engine can go into a gen 1 car.
