Insurance on a car returned to the dealer
Discussion
More info needed.
Your car has gone back? If its your car you can do what you like with it insurance wise provided it isn't on a public road and is SORN.
If its actually a car belonging to a lease company or its on a PCP where they own it and not you then a condition of the agreement is that it is comprehensively insured therefore until such time as you have ended the agreement, you must continue to abide by it.

If it belongs to you, it isn't financed and it's parked in the dealers premesis and not on the road and you've declared it SORN then by all means cancel the insurance - its totally legal. Just be aware that you might have a problem if it gets nicked or something, as I've no idea what sort of arrangement you have with the dealer regarding liability etc.

Not quite. Legally the car has to be insured at all times while it is taxed and on the road. As RK it is your responsibility to insure this is the case. If you want to cancel the insurance you need to SORN it to avoid being fined. txs
I'd actually say the wisest move is to speak to the dealership, as it sounds like a very odd scenario to me.
