Following on from Srider's most excellent leopard pictures I thought it might be a good idea to start a list of locations for interesting photography.

As a suggestion how about splitting the list into something like;
1. Urban
2. Wildlife
3. Car locations
4. Landscapes

I don't think there's a risk of all our pictures turning out the same as we all have our different styles, but it could be fun to try some new locations.

I'll kick off with

Wildlife
1. Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust Slimbridge near Stroud
Good mix of species with many migrants coming in over the winter. Also has 4 species of flamingo which can make for interesting images. Lots of swans (black & white), many goose species. If you're lucky you might even get Kingfishers from one hide.

2. WWT, Arundel, Sussex
Again a good mix of species but on amuch smaller scale than Slimbridge

3. WWT, Barnes, London
Not as good as the other two but does provide a habitat where you can get very close to herons as they fish.

Main WWT website is www.wwt.org.uk

4. Cotswold Wildlife Park near Fairford and Bibury
Many species here including meerkats, mongoose, otters, zebra, rhino, owls, pengiuns etc. A lot of the birds enclosures have mesh that is too fine to get a good picture but lots of the animals are in big open enclosures that you can get a really good view into. Two from last weekend. More on Fotango.

Mongoose

Otter

Landscape
1. Lake Vrnwy, North Wales
Can make for some really great images using the dam and the tower (?filtration tower).

Anyone care to add to the list?

4. Cotswold Wildlife Park
Seconded!

Stokenchurch and the surrounding area (Jct6 M40) is amazing for the phenomenal number of Red Kites you see soaring at just a couple of hundred feet above you.

Kielder Water / Forest for the landscapes and the Bird of Prey centre there.
