Hi All.

Just thought I'd post a few pics of my current car.

Its a 2007 Golf Edition 30 DSG. The box is sublime. Much better than a standard auto box, and almost as involving as a manual box, just with quicker changes.

How it looks now, is how it will be staying.

Exterior: keep it looking standard. I've just got H&R springs

Interior wise:
RNS510 touchscreen Nav, with 30Gb hard drive for music, and SD slot.
Heated seats
Flappy paddles.

Here are some pics:

Lovely car that.

I'd only take the dsg if I had some kind of warranty for it, though!

I still really like these MK5s in GTI guise. Just look so right with all the ED30 appointments. Think I'd take one over the MK6 although that's based purely on appearance, never actually driven a MK6 GTI so can't say for sure.

How do you find the H&R springs? I've got a set on my Seat Bocanegra and they're extremely firm although the handling has improved somewhat.

Lovely car mate

See I prefer the looks of the mk6. I think it looks more aggressive.

Springs... I haven't found them much firmer than standard, but they have reduced body movement a fair bit.

Lovely car. Exactly the spec I was looking for 9 months ago! Ended up going for a highly specced standard GTI in the end as I couldn't really stretch to a tidy Ed30 at the time, but love them still smile Enjoy.

Thanks. Have you done anything to yours? I managed to find this ED30 with the the RNS510 and a couple of other bits done already, which was lucky, as I understand its a few ££ to add it after.

Yeah they're about £500 off eBay! At the moment mine's completely standard, but I'm toying with the idea of a remap. Revo quote around 230-240bhp for the standard car which is plenty really, although part of the appeal of the ED30 was the prospect of an easy 300bhp which just sounds cool if nothing else! In reality I did wonder how badly traction would suffer. It'll spin the fronts up no problem at the moment with 'only' 200.

The spec on mine was pretty decent to begin with. It does lack the RNS510 and MFSW, but does have 18s, factory tints, comfort pack 2(I think?!) which has the folding mirrors, armrest, rear interior lights, dual zone climate, auto lights and TPMS and full leather. Also it was one of the few with 18in Monzas that weren't kerbed! Only one has be restored, and amazingly they've resisted white worm.

Don't know about you, but I was really quite surprised how vocal the engine is. Quite loud from the outside too!

Id imagine he needs to look at uprating HPFP- High Pressure Fuel Pump, Located at the front of the engine block.

I have one of these too! Although mine has the 3rd pedal and 2 extra doors. It's the perfect compromise car.

I'll be off to see Revo in the summer smile

I love Ed30 wheels, realy suit the car. I presonally think that the GTi should always be in Tornado Red.
