Fiat stilo help needed.......please

Long story short, my sister in laws just brought a fiat stilo, its a 1600 petrol and a 52 reg, the garage she got it from replaced the front disc's and pads, since then the car has suffered bad brake squeal, now ive been tasked to sort it out.
At the moment im thinking pagid brake pads and a bit of copperslip on the back of the pads, im also thinking dont bother replacing new disc's, would this cure the squeal or is there anti squeal shims that havent been replaced.
Need some advice on this guys, never worked on a fiat before and yes the garage went bump a week after she parted with her hard earned.

copperslip the rear of the pads, it might need shims possibly

Thanks to, I use copperslip anyway, ill give the stealer a ring and see if they need shims.

I had exact same problem on my stilo 1.6.

Bought it used back in 2007 with new pads and discs as part of the deal.

when braking had a loud squeek as well. My mechanoc buddy checked it over but said it was ok.

The noise stopped after a bit
