Magnecore for me, very well made indead but im sure there is plenty of other options on the market for less money, you only get what you pay for....

I've just fitted a set of these 10mm race leads to the Tuscan race car. For £89 inc VAT they seem good. I've never much success with Magnecore leads.

OK thanks for all the contributions

Reason for asking is twofold

Some of the leads are bright brass, other are very dull and corroded (blue crystals growing on them !)

The coil lead occasionally flies off the distributor which is a bit disconcerting on the motorway

yeah definately get yourself a new set, and some plugs too while you're at it. That'll make things nice for a loong time.

Just get some of these they are easy to change over - you just need some pliers to crimp them on.

Beat you Rob.

I found some fatter 10.4mm leads from Taylor Ignition http://www.taylorvertex.com/Products/index.cgi/pro...

Together with some nice separators: http://www.taylorvertex.com/Products/pdfs/buyersGu...

I would say a mixture of dampness and arcing do to poor contact...

Another Vote for Moroso, they come as a kit so you can make then the exact length you want. but they have been fault less on the racer, other racer have had problems with Magnecor.

After having 2 Magnecore leads break, I dumped the lot and bought a Moroso kit from Real Steel. You really need the Moroso crimping tool as well to do a proper job.

A quick update

The coil lead is loose - you can easily remove it and there is no positive fit. It is a different make to the no name HT leads fitted by the garage one of which left the connector on the spark plug despite me carefully pulling on the boot to remove it.

You would have though that if there was something wrong with the Magnecor leads on the car when it went in the 10 year warranty could have been used - it still had 7 years left
