Interesting article on NASA's research(with others) into reducing the effects of sonic booms caused by supersonic aircraft.

Really interesting.

I read that the Russians (Sukhoi I think) have been working on a supersonic business jet. The models that are featured in the article look really cool and do bring out the inner child in me. I would love to see an airliner that looked like that!

Sadly though, I think economics will prevent any new form of supersonic airliner in the forseeable future.

No market for supersonic airluiners for decades to come.

But there could very well be a market for supersonic biz jets.

I had just presumed QSP was a precursor to this research.

It's not still going on, is it?

No idea. This prog sounds very much like it has come out of QSP, but normally you would reference your previous work as that is providing your baseline and input.
